What is the difference between Israel and the Body of Christ in God's plan?
Israel is the earthly people with an earthly Kingdom promised, where Christ reigns as King in their midst. The Body of Christ is the heavenly people, the Church, the Gentile complement completed before the Kingdom economy, when all comes under Christ's headship.
Les explains that the Old Testament promised a glorious earthly Kingdom where Christ will be King, and the King is in the midst of Israel, offering them earthly promises. But Ephesians 1:10 shows this could not happen until the Gentile complement was completed, which was the Church. So Israel is the earthly people with an earthly Kingdom, while the Body of Christ is the heavenly people. Les then sets the Body of Christ aside to go to Matthew 19, where Jesus proclaims to Israel that He is Messiah, proving it with miracles, signs, and wonders, and Peter asks what they will have for following Him.
