What did Jesus tell Andrew and Philip to say to the Greeks who wanted to see him?
Jesus told Andrew and Philip to tell the Greeks that the hour cometh, speaking of His death, burial, and resurrection, and that unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abideth alone; but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Les explains that all through Jesus’ earthly ministry He had ignored the Gentiles; even when the Greeks wanted to see Him at the Passover feast, He did not respond by telling them to bring the Greeks in. Instead, He told Andrew and Philip to go tell those Greeks that the hour was coming—referring to His death, burial, and resurrection—and that unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone, but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.
And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
