What does it take to have the abundant life according to the Bible?
The abundant life comes through wisdom joined with good common sense, received as God's free gift to believers and appropriated by faith. Believing God's Word, rather than unbelief, is what pleases Him; the more one believes, the more He blesses.
Les explains that if a person has wisdom and with it good common horse sense, that person has the abundant life. God has given this to believers freely, not requiring them to grovel in the ground, climb steps to St. Peter, or cross the ocean; He gives it here and now, abounding and more than they can handle. The believer appropriates it by faith. Les says he does not always feel or sense it, but he returns to the Word, believes it, and that is what God is looking for. The more we believe, the more He blesses, because nothing pleases God more than the faith of a human being. Unbelief is the opposite and is what God will hold in the strongest light against mankind. Christendom's problem is that many may be saved but lack this wisdom and flounder in ignorance of the Scriptures.
