What is the abundant life according to the nine fruits of the Spirit?

The abundant life is the life produced by the Spirit's nine fruits—love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. It is more than escaping hell; it is salvation's inner result and a life that enhances, with nothing to oppose it.

Les explains that the nine fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. He divides them into three segments of three. The first three—love, joy, and peace—are the inner results of salvation in the believer, what we experience simply by believing the Gospel. He stresses that believers are not saved merely as a fire escape or just to escape hell fire; they are saved to have life abundantly, as Jesus said. These nine fruits, therefore, are the abundant life, and against such things there is no law or opposition. They are attributes of a life that enhances, and Les contrasts a community living this way with the pandemonium and police-blotter behavior of the previous verses.
