How did the blood of bulls and calves compare to the blood of Christ?

The blood of bulls and calves did its work by covering the sins of Israel, but it was nothing when compared to the blood of Christ. Christ's blood paid the redemption price required for God to gain control of fallen man, and that payment was made in full.

Les teaches that Hebrews constantly compares what was good with what is far better. The earthly tabernacle was beautiful and functional, but it was patterned after something more perfect in heaven. Likewise, the blood of bulls and calves did its work and covered the sins of Israel, but it was nothing compared to the blood of Christ. Christ's blood has paid the price of redemption that had to be paid for God to get control of fallen man, and it has been paid in full. The passage then moves to verse 13, where the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctified to the purifying of the flesh, leading to the argument of how much more Christ's blood accomplishes.

Hebrews 9:12
