By what are we accepted in the Beloved?
We are accepted in the Beloved by His grace. This acceptance is not earned or deserved; it is entirely by God's unmerited favor. Through the plan of salvation, we respond and are positionally placed in Christ, the Beloved, by grace alone.
Les explains that being accepted in the Beloved means being in Christ, and this is entirely by God's grace. He emphasizes that we deserve none of this and that everything we have—spiritual, material, or physical—comes by the grace of God. God could have let us slip into an eternity lost and without hope, but by His grace He presented us with the plan of salvation, and we responded. Therefore, we are now positionally accepted in the Beloved. Les also notes that this is a recurring prepositional phrase, and to be in the Beloved is to be in Christ, which is solely by grace.
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
