How many years are there between King David and the first coming of Christ?

The span from King David and Solomon, including the building of the first Temple, to Christ’s first advent is about 1,000 years. The context places David near 1000 B.C. and Christ’s first coming at 29 A.D., making the interval approximately one thousand years.

Les explains that the timeline moves from 2000 B.C. to the next major Old Testament event at 1000 B.C., the appearance of King David, then Solomon his son, who built the first Temple. From Christ’s first advent back to King David, Solomon, and the building of the Temple is again about 1000 years. The context also notes Moses and the Law at 1500 B.C., and that Solomon’s glorious Temple stood only about 350–400 years, though it took 40 years to build.
