Is David's kingdom established for a thousand years or forever?

The promise declares David’s house and kingdom are established forever, not merely for a thousand years. The throne is established forever. The millennial economy is described as continuing into the eternal state, with Israel as head of the nations and Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Les explains that God may chasten and punish His people, but His mercy shall not depart from them as it was taken from Saul, whom God put away. The house of David refers to that royal family beginning with David, carried on through Solomon, and all the way down to the Messiah Christ Himself. Les emphasizes that the house and kingdom shall be established forever—not a thousand years, but forever—and the throne shall be established forever. He therefore increasingly feels that the whole millennial economy will go right on into the eternal state. Returning to Revelation 22, Les notes the same setup as in the millennium: the nations, Israel as the head of the nations, and Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords. There shall be no more curse, and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, with God in the very center. His servants, believers from the ages, shall serve Him and see His face. Les cautions that we should not try to put a face on God, for God is eternal and Spirit.
