What happens to the body if you take away the five senses?
The body functions only through the five senses. Take them away, and what remains is a vegetable; if one cannot smell, hear, taste, or touch, one is nothing. The body is a temporary tent, a tabernacle, merely the dwelling place for the real person.
Les teaches that the body is just a tabernacle, a temporary dwelling place—a tent. It is not permanent; it is something used temporarily. God placed the real person, the invisible personality of mind, will, and emotion, in that tent, and alongside it a spirit entity capable of communication and fellowship with the Creator. The body is functional only in the five senses. Take away the five senses, and what is left? A vegetable. If you cannot smell, hear, taste, or touch, you are nothing; the body becomes only the exercise of the five senses. It is a tent, a dwelling place for the real you and the real me. Since this is the direct creation of God, it comes straight from God's heart and is eternal; this part of us will never die, as God is eternal.
