What does it actually mean to be meek?

Scriptural meekness is not weakness or letting everyone walk over you. It means having an attitude that God can use, being pliable and moldable in His hands. Moses, called the meekest man, was no milk toast; he was an educated, capable leader whom God could mold and use greatly.

Les teaches that meekness is not the same as being a person everyone walks on, someone with no gumption to respond. The best way to explain it, he says, is to look at Moses. Moses was not a milk toast; he was a leader, highly educated in all the schools of Egypt, a military leader, and perhaps a contractor or civil engineer. Yet the Bible calls him the meekest man who ever lived. It was not that people could walk on him, but his attitude was such that God could use him. He was pliable and moldable, and Moses became a great man. That is what it means to be meek: simply to be pliable and usable.
