What was the condition of man's heart before the flood?

Before the flood, God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Man's heart was not merely prone to occasional sin; all he could think about was unrighteousness.

Les explains that Genesis 6:5 gives the condition just before the flood: God saw man's wickedness was great, and every imagination of his heart's thoughts was only evil continually. Les stresses that all they could think about was that which was unrighteous. He ties this to the Romans passage's list—envy, murder, deceit, haters of God, inventors of evil—and to Jesus' statement that as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man. Les says you only have to look around, read the paper, listen to the news, and it is obvious; we are getting there fast.
