How do we receive and draw on the Holy Spirit's power?
Believers receive and draw on the Holy Spirit's power by faith, understanding that the Pneuma Hagion is the power from on high exercised through the person of the Holy Spirit. By faith they affirm, 'I have the Holy Spirit,' and draw on Him rather than forcing themselves to keep the law, letting the Spirit run the race.
Les explains that the Holy Spirit is the person, and the Pneuma Hagion is the power from on high exercised through that person. This power is what believers need to confront the old nature, to live victoriously in the flesh, and to be enabled for what they cannot do without it. He says this must be understood by faith: by faith we take it, saying, 'Lord, I have the Holy Spirit. I can draw on Him,' and we do not have to force ourselves to be law keepers. It then comes naturally to let the Spirit run the race for us. In contrast, those after the flesh mind the things of the flesh and know nothing of God's saving grace.
