How do we receive the Holy Spirit's power by faith?

Believers receive it by faith: they come to understand and take by faith that they have the Holy Spirit. They can draw on Him; Pneuma Hagion is the power from on high exercised through the Holy Spirit. This replaces forcing oneself as a law keeper, allowing the Spirit to run the race.

Les explains that the power from on high is the Pneuma Hagion, the Holy Spirit as the person. The Holy Spirit gives us what we need to confront the old nature and to live victoriously in the flesh; we cannot do it without the Pneuma Hagion, which is the power from on high exercised through the person of the Holy Spirit. By faith, the believer says, “Lord, I have the Holy Spirit. I can draw on Him, and I don’t have to force myself to be a law keeper.” It then comes naturally to let the Spirit run the race for us. Les connects this with Romans chapter 8 and Galatians 5:5, where those after the flesh mind the things of the flesh, still living in the realm of old Adam and knowing nothing of God’s saving grace.
