How do we once again have fellowship with God through the Spirit?
We once again have fellowship with God through the Spirit because the Holy Spirit indwells and regenerates our spirit, which died in Adam. With the Holy Spirit in complete agreement with our spirit, He provides the means of fellowship and influences the new nature to control the physical body.
Les explains that the Holy Spirit comes in, indwells, and regenerates our spirit, which died the moment Adam sinned. With the Holy Spirit now in consort or complete agreement with our spirit, we once again have that means of fellowship with God through the Spirit. The Holy Spirit working on our spirit influences the new nature, and the new nature in turn controls the acts of the physical body. As long as we are led by the Spirit, the body aligns with God's laws that are good for society, family, and marital relationships. Even though humans still sin, this God-given part makes the difference.
