What is the spiritual state of someone who uses Christian liberty as a license to sin?

Someone who treats Christian liberty as license to sin likely has only a pseudo salvation. They may have tasted spiritual things and had an emotional experience, but they never truly entered a genuine salvation experience. A true believer, by contrast, normally knows better than to use grace as an occasion for the flesh.

Les explains that Christian liberty is not to be used as an occasion to the flesh. If a person says, “I’m saved, I’m a child of God, and I can do whatever I want,” most true believers know better than that. Les says such people probably have a pseudo salvation; they may have tasted of it and had an emotional experience, but they never really entered into a genuine salvation experience. Those kind of people may take this approach, while the true believer knows better. Paul writes to Galatian believers not to use their freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but by love to serve one another as bond slaves, especially among believers.
