is Christian freedom a license to live however you want?

No. Christian freedom is not a license to live however you want. Believers are set free from legalism and bondage, but that freedom does not give permission to live as they please simply because God has saved them by grace. The freedom exercised in becoming a believer is true freedom, not license.

Les explains that when a person becomes a believer, there has never been the kind of freedom exercised as then. That is when one understands true freedom. Paul constantly says, "Be not entangled again in the yoke of bondage," and warns not to come under the heavy yoke of legalism, because believers have been set free from all that. But Les stresses that this is not license: we are not given the freedom to live as we please simply because God has saved us by His grace.
