Is grace a license to sin?

No. Scripture never teaches that grace is a license to sin; Paul said that charge was a slanderous report. Believers are saved, live, and walk by grace, but that is not license. Romans 5:20 shows God's grace goes deeper than sin to bring righteousness, not to permit evil.

Les teaches that the idea of grace as a license to sin is a slanderous misrepresentation of Paul's ministry. Paul's critics claimed he said, 'Let us do evil, that good may come,' but Paul answered that their condemnation is sure. Les explains that believers are saved by grace, live by grace, and walk by grace, but that is not license. Romans 5:20 shows that no matter how far down a person can go into sin and wickedness, God's grace is always capable of going even lower and bringing him back up to a place of righteousness.
