Why don't believers need temple worship, priests, animal sacrifices, or the Ten Commandments drilled into them?
Under grace, the Holy Spirit empowers believers so love becomes the motivating power behind everything they do. When they love one another, they fulfill the law automatically. Therefore temple worship, a priesthood, animal sacrifices, and constant drilling of the Ten Commandments are unnecessary, because love operating in them causes those commands to fall away.
Les explains that Paul is writing to believers about everyday practicality, not something pie in the sky. Under grace, the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. Les teaches that believers do not have to have temple worship, a priesthood, animal sacrifices, or the Ten Commandments constantly drilled into them, because once they step under the light of grace and the Holy Spirit empowers them, love becomes the whole motivating power behind everything they do, and then they automatically fulfill the Law. He illustrates this by asking whether you can steal from someone you love, bear false witness or gossip about someone you love, or covet what a loved one owns. Going through the whole gamut of the Ten Commandments, when love is operating, they all automatically fall away and no longer become something that has to be taught and drilled.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
