Are Grace Age believers tied to the earthly Jerusalem or the heavenly one?
Grace Age believers are not tied to the temple worship in earthly Jerusalem. Their citizenship is in heaven, and they are tied to the heavenly Jerusalem which is above. That heavenly Jerusalem is free, and it is the mother, or beginning, of us all.
Les teaches that when Galatians was written, the earthly temple was still fully operating: sacrifices were being offered, the temple ritual was followed, and the priests fulfilled their daily ritual. Yet since Paul received his revelations, believers have total freedom of grace. Philippians 3:20, where 'conversation' means citizenship, places the believer's citizenship in heaven. When translated into the kingdom of His dear Son, the believer became a citizen of it. Therefore, Grace Age believers are not tied to temple worship in earthly Jerusalem but to the heavenly Jerusalem above, which is free with total liberty and is the mother, or beginning, of us all. Les also points to Galatians 4:26 and then verse 27, where the allegory returns to Ishmael and Isaac.
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
