Why does Les not get discouraged when ministry results seem lacking?
He does not get discouraged because meager ministry results have always been the pattern in Scripture. Even after Jesus' three years of earthly ministry around Jerusalem, only about 120 were gathered, and Paul's Galatian converts also turned. Since it has never been otherwise, he accepts that outcomes often remain small.
Les explains that if you get discouraged and wonder why you or anyone else cannot have the results you'd like, it's always been that way. He points to the flood, where only eight were saved out of perhaps four or five billion people, and to Jesus' three years of earthly ministry around Jerusalem, which ended with only 120—next to nothing. He also notes Paul's Galatian converts, who once loved him enough to pluck out their own eyes for him but later became his enemy simply because he continued giving them the truth. Since Scripture consistently shows small results, Les teaches, that is why he does not get discouraged.
