Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens when people are indifferent to what Christ accomplished on the cross?

When people are indifferent to what Christ accomplished, His finished work is wasted on them; they walk it underfoot and go their own way unconcerned, so the blood of Christ is accounted as nothing. Their indifference makes the labor of those who preached the gospel seem in vain.

Les explains that Paul feared his labor among the Galatians had been in vain because they were turning back under the law. Les stresses that while it was bad enough for Paul's labor to seem wasted, it is far worse that it was in vain for what Christ had done. Christ has already accomplished everything that needs to be done for every human being, yet when people are totally unconcerned and indifferent, they walk it underfoot and the blood of Christ is accounted as nothing. Les calls this a great waste, though for those who believe, Christ's work was not in vain.

Galatians 4:11

I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
