What did God tell the Israelites to do when they were trapped at the Red Sea?

God instructed the Israelites to stand still, do nothing, and wait for the power of God, instead of attempting to build rafts, make boats, or perform rituals to escape. He then opened the Red Sea and led them through by His power.

Les explains that the Israelites were trapped with the Egyptian army behind them, mountains on the right, obstacles on the left, and the Red Sea in front. God did not tell them to hurry, build rafts, make boats, or get out of the predicament, nor did He tell them to perform rituals. He simply said, “Stand still. Don’t do anything, and wait for the power of God.” The Red Sea then opened, and He led them through. Les applies this same principle today: people try to do, work, keep commandments, and do, do, do, while God keeps saying, “Stand still. Don’t do anything, but believe”—believe that it has all been done. After believing faith, God precipitates the action, sending the Spirit of His Son into believers’ hearts, not into a denomination or church building, so that they cry, “Abba, Father.”
