For whom did Christ pay the price of redemption?

Christ paid the price of redemption for every human being—the whole human race, all people. His death on the cross was for everyone's sin, though individuals appropriate that redemption only when faith comes into the picture. He paid it with His own blood.

Les explains that Israel's redemption from Egypt was a picture: God paid the price to bring Israel out from bondage and back to Himself, but that price was more symbolic. For the whole world population in general, He paid the price with His own blood. The cross of Calvary is where Christ paid the price of redemption so that the whole human race, which fell under Satan's control when Adam sinned, could be redeemed. He paid the price for how many? All, all. Les stresses that when Christ died, He paid the price for every human being's sin. He has paid the price of redemption for everyone, but you cannot appropriate it until faith comes into the picture. In Romans 3, Christ Jesus is set forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood. The blood is the price of redemption, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission. Had not Christ shed His blood, the redemption price would never have been paid.
