Les Feldick Bible Study

By virtue of what can God place us as full, completely tutored sons of God?

The work of the Cross is the basis. Through it God places believers as full, completely tutored sons, not under bondage or fear. Having received the Spirit of Adoption, they cry Abba Father and can come alongside Him as prepared young men, already joint heirs with Christ.

Les explains that by virtue of the work of the Cross, God can place us as a full, completely tutored son of God. Believers are not under the spirit of bondage and fear; instead, they have received the Spirit of Adoption, whereby they cry Abba Father. He illustrates this with a Greek or Roman tutor who prepared a child to be a full adult son, ready to step in and be co-equal with the father. The prepared son does not come in fearfully like a puppy but comes right in to work alongside the Father because he has been well tutored. Les says that is where believers are: they can come right in alongside Him. This is their position. Someday, if the Lord tarries, he will go into Ephesians, a book of position, showing believers are already in an exalted position in the heavenlies and are already joint heirs with Christ, even while on earth under the curse.
