How do we become children of God?

We become children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, not by keeping the Law. Paul writes it is by faith in the finished work of Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—alone. The Law has been satisfied and crucified; we enter in by faith plus nothing.

Les explains that Galatians 3:26 corrects the idea that we become children of God by keeping the Law. He notes that millions of so-called Christians try to add works, but this verse excludes all such efforts. Les says we become children of God by one thing alone: faith in the finished work of Christ. He clarifies that Paul's phrase 'by faith in Christ' means trusting in the finished work of redemption—that Christ died, was buried, and rose again—not merely believing He was the Messiah, which was Peter's domain. The Law has been satisfied, completely paid in full through the work of the Cross, and now we enter in by faith plus nothing, all in the predetermined counsel of God.

Galatians 3:26

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Is it wrong to say I've still got to do this and that to be a child of God?
