What came through the nation of Israel?

Through the nation of Israel came the Law. Israel also served as the vehicle that crucified the Redeemer, and thereby made salvation possible. The promises made to Abraham then become ours, so we enter into being joint heirs according to those promises.

Les explains that God made the promises to Abraham around 2000 B.C., and out of Abraham would come the nation of Israel. Through Israel would come the Law; Israel would also be the vehicle that crucified the Redeemer, making salvation possible. Then Israel slips off the scene, and the Gentiles come into that place. All the promises made to Abraham now become ours, so we have entered into being joint heirs according to the promises. This brings us back to Romans chapter 8, where those led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God, not receiving the spirit of bondage again to fear. The Law was a burden and severe, a segment of fear.
