What happens when you have faith in the Gospel?
Faith in the Gospel makes a person a member of the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit's work baptizes that believer into the Body, and the result is putting on Christ. This spiritual union creates a unity that nothing can take apart.
Les teaches that this truth comes alone from the writings of Paul; it is not taught in the Gospels or the Old Testament. Paul constantly says that when we have faith in the Gospel, we become a member of the Body of Christ. Galatians 3:27 then says that if you have been baptized by the Holy Spirit's work into the Body of Christ, you have put on Christ. Because of that, there is a unity among members of the Body that nothing can take apart. Les illustrates this with how believers who gather, even on trips, quickly come together as close-knit family, since they are not strangers long when they are believers.
