Why can't you see a person's soul or spirit during an autopsy?
The soul and spirit cannot be seen during an autopsy because they are invisible. The body is only an outer tabernacle; human hands cannot touch the soul or spirit. Though unseen, they are real, and they occupy the realm where only God can work.
Les explains this by the morgue illustration: if you accompanied a pathologist in an autopsy, you would never see a person's soul or spirit. Of course not—they are invisible. But that does not mean they are not real; they are for real, or we would not be here. Les says God works in that invisible area of our soul and spirit, and human hands cannot touch it. You could baptize the whole body a hundred times, and it would not change the soul and spirit, because the body is only an outer tabernacle. Only God can work in that realm. This connects with Romans 6: being baptized into Christ means being identified in His death, buried with Him, and raised by resurrection power as a new person in Christ.
