Les Feldick Bible Study

What has to happen to you before you can be placed in Christ?

Before being placed in Christ, you must be identified with His death. God saw you crucified with Christ and buried with Him in His tomb. This identification is a God thing, accomplished by His power, not by water baptism or joining a denomination. Only then are you placed in Christ.

Les teaches that being placed in Christ is not about a denomination or a church, but about being baptized into Jesus Christ. Before you could get there, you had to be identified with His death. When Christ died, God saw every one of us on the cross in the person of Christ; He died in our place. God saw you and me crucified, as Galatians 2 says, "I have been crucified with Christ." Just as surely as God saw us on the cross, He saw us in the tomb, buried with Him—not by water, but by God's determination. Since He paid the sin debt for all, for those who believe and appropriate it, God says you are dead, crucified, and buried. Also, we have been resurrected with Him to a new life, totally different people as a result of the power of His resurrection. It is a God thing: in His omnipotence, power, omniscience, and ability to work in the invisible, He has placed us in all these places.

Romans 6:3

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
