What does it mean that Scripture is a progressive revelation?
It means God did not reveal everything at the start; He unveiled His plan in successive stages. Scripture shows the Law given first, with Israel under its burden for 1,500 years, and only afterward did God progressively reveal the doctrines of grace.
Les teaches that Scripture is a progressive revelation, meaning God didn’t tell everything up front. When He gave the Law, He did not tell Israel and the rest of the world that one day Christ would die and send the world grace. Instead, Israel went 1,500 years under the burden of the Law—24 hours a day, with no liberty, only constant fear—until the Faith which should afterwards be revealed. Then, progressively, God revealed the tremendous doctrines of grace. So later revelation unveils what earlier Scripture did not yet disclose.
