Why was the Law given according to Galatians 3?
According to Galatians 3, the Law was added because of transgressions—sin. It was given 2,500 years after mankind began, roughly 430 years after the promise to Abraham, not to fulfill promises or provide grace. Its purpose was to address sin and condemn Israel's transgressions.
Les teaches that the Law was not part of the promises made to Abraham and not part of grace. It was added 2,500 years after Adam, about 430 years after Abraham, because of transgressions—sin. Before Sinai there was no written Law or organized worship, and wickedness ran rampant, as Genesis 6:5 says every imagination of man's heart was only evil continually. The Law could not fulfill any promises; it could only condemn Israel.
