How did Paul respond to being surrounded by the immorality of the Roman Empire?

Paul never let the immorality of the Roman Empire turn his mind aside; instead, he just preached the Gospel. He endured suffering and traveled by small boat to spread the Gospel to the ends of the Roman Empire, doing it all for the sake of the Gospel.

Les teaches that Paul did not get through as easily as Abraham did; Paul suffered. Les recalls traveling the Mediterranean Sea and thinking of Paul bouncing around on a little boat no bigger than a cork, yet Paul did it all for the sake of the Gospel, to get it out to the ends of the Roman Empire. Les points to the immoral remains of the Roman Empire and observes that Paul was in the midst of it constantly, yet he never let it turn his mind aside—he just preached the Gospel. Les calls this quite a revelation. Then Les returns to verse 14, where the blessings of Abraham come on the Gentiles through the finished work of the cross through Jesus Christ, so that Gentiles receive the promise of the Holy Spirit through faith without any works of the law.
