What is the price of redemption according to Scripture, and what does Peter say we were bought with?

Scripture teaches that the price of redemption is blood, for without the shedding of blood there is no remission. Peter writes that believers were not bought with silver and gold but with the precious blood of Christ. Galatians likewise says Christ redeemed us by paying that price with His blood.

Les explains that the blood is the price of redemption all through Scripture. Peter tells us in his little epistle that we are not bought with silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Christ. Hebrews says that without the shedding of blood there is no remission; it has to be paid for with atoning blood. In Galatians 3:13, Christ hath redeemed us, having paid the price of redemption with His blood, being made a curse for us. Les notes that crucifixion was necessary because He had to be lifted up and placed on a tree to fulfill, "Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree." He could not have died any other death, or it would not have fulfilled the total picture.
