Can any human being keep the whole Law?

No mortal man can keep the whole Law, because it requires keeping every jot and tittle, which only God can do. Attempting to merit favor with God by the Law places a person under the curse, as Deuteronomy 27 and Galatians 3 declare.

Les explains that when someone says they will keep the Law to merit favor with God, there is no way any mortal man can do it; they put themselves under the curse. Deuteronomy 27 says, "Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them." That means if you do not keep every last jot and tittle of the Law—as no man can do, and only God can—you are under the curse of God. Paul makes the same reference in Galatians 3: "For as many as are on the works of the Law are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the Law to do them." The Law commands do this and do that, but since you are human you cannot keep it. Putting yourself under a so-called legal system actually puts you under the curse of God. Les says this is serious business, and it is not his language but the Book.
