Les Feldick Bible Study

What makes a personality?

A personality is made up of three aspects of the innermost being: mind, will, and emotion. These are invisible, bona fide entities—the real you and real me—and they reflect the image of God, who also has mind, will, and emotion.

Les explains that the will is exercised but invisible, and the emotions make us cry, laugh, be happy, or sad. These three aspects of our innermost being—mind, will, and emotion—are what he calls the personality, the person, the real you and the real me. He then compares this to the Godhead: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit each have mind, will, and emotion. That is what makes a personality, and it was in that area of the person that humanity was created in the image of God, because God has all these attributes. Les also notes that when God created Adam, He gave him that invisible personality and placed within him a spirit concept to connect Adam with his Creator.
