Does every Gentile having the opportunity to hear the gospel mean every Gentile will be saved?
No. Although the Gentile world now has privilege and opportunity to hear the Gospel and be saved, that does not mean every Gentile will be saved. They must appropriate God's provision by faith like Abraham; opportunity brings responsibility, not automatic salvation.
Les explains that just as Israel rested on the root and fatness of Abraham but most Jews were not believers, so the Gentile nations now occupy a place of privilege and blessing. Everyone has an opportunity to hear the Gospel and be saved, but that does not mean every Gentile will be saved—by no means. Those who remain lost will be held responsible at the great white throne and cannot say they never had a chance. They rested on Abraham's root and had as much opportunity as the covenant people did in the past, but they refused it. Christ died for all sins, and every human being has already been declared reconciled and pardoned so far as God is concerned, but until they appropriate it with the kind of faith Abraham had, it is all for nothing. God does not look for someone who knows the Bible from cover to cover or for a primary example of holy living before He can save.
