What does God do when we simply believe what He said?
When we take God at His Word and believe what He has said, God recognizes that faith. On the basis of that belief, He moves in and does everything that needs to be done. This is by faith, not by the works of the Law, because faith comes by hearing, not working.
Les explains that faith is simply taking God at His Word. There is no work in hearing, and that is how faith comes. We contemplate it, recognize that Christ died and rose from the dead, and believe it. By believing, we are listening to the Word of God. God said it, we believe it, and God recognizes it. On that basis, He moves in and does everything that needs to be done. The Scripture says this is by faith, not the works of the Law. Repetition is the mother of learning, so this is repeated. Having begun in the Spirit, we are not made perfect by the flesh, which refers to the Law.
