What should Gentile converts be taught about the Law of Moses for the sake of Jews in pagan communities?

For the sake of Jews in pagan communities, Gentile converts should be taught that some things from the Law of Moses remain fundamental—especially abstaining from meat offered to idols, blood, things strangled, and fornication—even though they are not required to keep the whole Law or practice circumcision.

Les explains that while preaching the Gospel of Grace in the Gentile world is good, for the sake of Jews in those pagan communities converts should at least understand that some things are still fundamental going all the way back to the Law of Moses. Paul agreed with this and taught it as such. The Jerusalem church’s written agreement did not force Gentile believers to keep the Law and practice circumcision, but it did call them to abstain from meat offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from fornication. Even though this was part of the Law, God could sanction its continuing alongside the Gospel of Grace. Though believers are under Grace, not Law, God still holds them accountable for not doing these things.

Acts 15:21

For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
