What was Paul teaching the Gentiles about salvation and the Law?

Paul taught Gentiles that salvation was apart from Judaism, received without circumcision and without being commanded to keep the Law. He rejected the Pharisees' demand that Gentiles must be circumcised and keep the Law of Moses, insisting that requirement had no part in his message.

Les explains that the Acts 15 controversy centered on whether Gentile believers had to be circumcised and keep the Law of Moses. Paul’s message at Antioch was that Gentiles had salvation apart from Judaism, without circumcision, and without being commanded to keep the Law. When Pharisees demanded circumcision and Law-keeping, Paul said no way that would be part of his message. Peter later defended Paul by recalling Cornelius, where God saved a Gentile without ascribing to Judaism, without repentance and water baptism.
