Where and for how long did God teach Paul after saving him, and did he learn from the Twelve?
After saving Paul by grace on the road to Damascus, God taught him for three years in the desert at Mount Sinai, also described as Arabia. Paul did not go back to the Twelve to learn from them; Scripture shows a total break between the Twelve and Paul's ministry.
Les explains that God supernaturally reached down and saved Paul by grace, taught him for three years out in the desert down at Mount Sinai, and did not send him back to the Twelve to pick up everything they knew. Les stresses that most people imagine Paul was just an extension of Peter and the Eleven's ministry, but the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul makes it plain there had to be a total break between the Twelve and Paul's ministry. Paul certifies that the gospel he preached was not after man, neither received of man nor taught it, but by revelation from Jesus Christ. The Lord saved him on the road to Damascus and took him into Arabia for three years. Later in Jerusalem, he was confronted by the headmen of the Jerusalem church, the Twelve and others, who were Jewish.
But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
