Why does a nation need a government?

A nation needs a government because without it, law and order and an economy cannot exist. The Abrahamic covenant illustrates this: God promised a nation of people, a geographical area, and that God in the flesh would be their King, showing governance is essential for order and economic life.

Les explains that if you have a nation of people in a geographical area, you cannot have law and order, and you cannot have an economy unless you have a government. He ties this to the Abrahamic covenant, where God promised Abraham a nation of people, their own geographical area of land, and that in the future He would be their King in the person of God in the flesh—the promised Messiah and Redeemer. Thus, government is a necessary foundation for order and economic life in any nation.
