Why did Paul marvel at the Galatians?
Paul marveled because the Galatian believers were quickly turning away from the one who called them into the grace of Christ and were being persuaded by Judaizers to return to legalism, circumcision, and temple worship, thus moving from the Gospel of grace into another gospel.
Les explains that Paul had gotten word that these Galatian believers were being besieged by Judaizers who wanted to bring them back under the Law, practice circumcision, and temple worship. Paul said, 'I marvel,' because he could hardly comprehend how these people, who had turned from idols to the Living God, were now not satisfied and were being hoodwinked to go back under legalism. They were so soon removed from Him who called them into the Grace of Christ and were moving from the Gospel of the Grace of Christ into another gospel.
