Who is the firstborn from the dead?

According to Colossians 1, the firstborn from the dead is God the Son, the Christ. He is the Head of the Body, the Church, and His resurrection marks Him as the beginning, so that in all things He might have the pre-eminence.

Les teaches that Colossians 1 speaks of God the Son, who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. Christ was pre-eternal in His existence, and by Him all things were created and held together. He is the Head of the Body, the Church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, referring to His resurrection. This gives Him pre-eminence in all things, for it pleased the Father that in Him all fullness should dwell. The members of the Godhead are co-equal.

Colossians 1:18

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
