What was Paul's desire concerning the things he saw and heard?
Paul desired to share at least some of the things he saw and heard in that tremendous experience, but he could not. He held back lest anyone think of him above what they saw him to be or begin to worship him.
Les explains that Paul was just bursting to tell us what he saw and heard, yet he forbore. He would have liked to have shared at least some of it, but he couldn't. Les ties Paul's restraint to the danger that people would begin to worship him or think of him above what he appeared to be. Paul says he would speak the truth, but he refrains so no one esteems him too highly. This is in II Corinthians chapter 12.
