Are Christians today being tortured and killed for their faith?
Yes. Reports indicate that right now today thousands upon thousands of Christians are constantly being tortured, put to death, and sold into slavery in other parts of the world. A survey noted that since 1900 more Christians have been martyred than in all the rest of time back to Christ.
Les explains that his audience has had it pretty good and likely has not gone through the perils Paul described for the sake of the Gospel. However, he says the day may come if the Lord does not return. He states that right now today thousands upon thousands of Christians are constantly being tortured, put to death, and sold into slavery in other parts of the world. He also cites a survey he read indicating that since 1900 more Christians have been martyred than in all the rest of time back to the time of Christ. He connects this to ruthless communism in Russia for 70 years, the Nazis in Germany, and the Chinese, and says in Africa we have no idea of the extent.
