Why are people so confused by Satan's deception?
People are confused by Satan's deception because he transforms himself into an angel of light and his ministers appear as apostles of Christ. They use seemingly right terminology while being empty of doctrine. Since Satan drives this, his outward appearance misleads people into listening to and worshipping what seems genuine but remains Satan.
Les explains that false apostles and deceitful workers transform themselves into apostles of Christ, using much the same language Paul did—referencing Christ, His death, burial, resurrection, and the Holy Spirit—yet their talk is totally empty of doctrine. He points out that Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light, appearing as the one to be worshipped and listened to, though he remains Satan. Because Satan drives this deception through outward appearances, his ministers also appear righteous, and people are confused, not realizing it is still Satan behind it.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
