Why does Satan blind the minds of those who do not believe?

Satan, called the god of this world, blinds the minds of those who do not believe so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine unto them. This satanically inspired blindness hides the gospel from the lost and keeps them from seeing the truth of the Word.

Les teaches from 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 that if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. The God of this world, whom Les identifies as Satan, has blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Les calls this a dilemma: mankind is constantly laboring under Satan’s total blinding of their eyes to the truth of the Word of God. In that same light, Les points to Acts 16 and says believers must understand and pray to this end, because there is not a thing we can do until God takes away this satanically inspired blindness.
