Why is the bride depicted in white in Revelation?

The bride in Revelation is depicted in bright, white, clean linen because she represents a pure, chaste virgin espoused to one husband, Christ. White symbolizes the purity expected of that virgin bride, reflecting the godly jealousy and presentation of the church as pure.

Les explains that Paul is writing to Gentile believers included in the Body of Christ, saying he is jealous over them with a godly jealousy. Paul had espoused them to one husband so he could present them as a chaste, or pure, virgin to Christ. Les then connects this to Revelation: the bride is depicted clothed in linen, bright and white and clean because of the whole concept of a virgin bride. She is always depicted wearing white because of her hoped-for purity.
