Who are the white-robed people in Revelation 7?
Revelation 7 identifies them as converted people who came out of the great tribulation. They are the ones who washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. They are martyred almost as fast as they are converted during the tribulation.
Les explains that after John sees this multitude of converted people, one of the elders asks who they are, arrayed in white robes, and where they came from. The elder answers that they came out of the great tribulation—Les emphasizes “the” great tribulation—and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. He notes they will be martyred almost as fast as they are converted throughout the tribulation. Les also connects this to 2 Thessalonians 2, where Paul, though associated with grace and the mysteries, describes the Antichrist’s rise and connects the end of the church age with the tribulation age, identifying who will not receive the 144,000’s message; there is no second chance for those who missed salvation during the age of grace.
And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
