Why will the Apostle Paul be the one to introduce the Bride to the groom?
Scripture records Jesus’ principle that the least shall be greatest, and Paul calls himself the least of the apostles. Connecting those texts leads to the conclusion that Paul will be the one to introduce the Bride to her groom when she is presented.
Les explains that although there are differences of opinion about whether the Church, the Body of Christ, is the Bride, he still holds that the Church is the Bride of Christ. He agrees with O. William R. Newell, a teacher in the Chicago area in the 1920s and 1930s, who said that when the Bride of Christ is ready to be presented to the groom, the Apostle Paul will be the introducer. Les notes that Paul will stand head and shoulders, and that Newell took this from the Scriptures where the disciples asked who would be greatest in the kingdom, and Jesus answered that the least shall be greatest. Paul then spoke of himself as the least of the apostles. Newell put those together, and Les tends to agree that on that basis Paul will indeed introduce the Bride to her groom.
